Health Information Services Director directs and oversees all policies and procedures related to healthcare information management. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the medical records and transcription departments. Being a Health Information Services Director reviews processes and identifies areas for improvement taking into account user needs. May act as liaison between information services and technology department, ensuring that systems are accessible and in accordance with the needs of the organization. Additionally, Health Information Services Director ensures that all record keeping and information disbursement complies with HIPAA regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Information Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     We Care Services for Children - a nonprofit agency devoted to serving children birth to five and their families in Contra Costa County - is currently looking for a skilled, professional early-childhood Mental Health Director . Throughout our 64-year history, our programs have been rooted in the knowledge that success comes through understanding each family's unique cultural, linguistic, racial and socioeconomic needs and experiences. Our programs provide the best opportunities for children with and without special needs to heal, play, learn, and interact with their caretakers and each other in an attachment-focused and developmentally appropriate environment.

    Position Summary: This important role oversees all functions of We Care's Mental Health programs including Therapy, Mental Health Consultation, Wraparound, and School-based Inclusion. The Director is responsible for the quality of care, effectiveness, and efficiency of these services and determines operating policies and practices, develops and maintains contractual relationships, and selects and supervises staff.

    What you can look forward to:

    • Providing administrative and clinical oversight of mental health services across multiple service areas and programs. This includes developing protocols, policies, and procedures applicable to all behavioral/mental health staff and programs.
    • Overseeing the design and implementation of staff training and development.
    • Providing leadership through a thorough understanding of both clinic- and home-based models of early childhood mental health service provision.
    • Helping develop an agency-wide strategy as part of the executive team.
    • Ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards as they relate to treating young children and monitoring changes in these areas.
    • Overseeing all internal Quality Assurance functions and ensuring compliance with all Medi-Cal EPSDT requirements.
    • Overseeing new and existing grants
    • Analyzing data relevant to productivity and outcomes, and working with staff and administration to modify operations as needed.
    • Attending, participating in, and reporting at various internal and off-site meetings.
    • Providing reports as needed to the Executive Director, funders, and agency Board.
    • Representing We Care's Mental Health Services in the community.

    What you’ll bring to the position:

    • California licensure as an LCSW, MFT, or Psychologist.
    • Experience managing a mental health program - preferably serving young children.
    • Demonstrated supervisory, motivational, organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong commitment to teamwork and the tenets of Reflective Supervision
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate effectively and relate congenially with stakeholders, parents, children, clinic staff and providers, and community referral representatives.
    • Proven understanding of standards and practices governing patient/client confidentiality; demonstrated ability to preserve client confidentiality.
    • Thorough knowledge of and willingness to adhere to mandated reporting requirements as stated by law; working knowledge of generally accepted QA standards and procedures.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate and to coordinate effectively with different components of the mental health system.
    • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel)
    • Conscientious self-starter with a track record of hard work, self-motivation, productivity, efficiency, follow-through, and the ability to juggle multiple projects with ease.
    • Enthusiastic interest in supporting the mission of We Care Services for Children.
