MWH Constructors' Construction Management Services (CMS) group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Pipeline Inspector to support water infrastructure projects in Monterey, CA.
Essential Functions
- Representing the project owner in the field, provide single-point field inspection of Contractor's work.
- On a daily basis, monitor and record contractor's methods, procedures, and processes for compliance with the contract and prepare a comprehensive Daily Inspection Report with measurement of daily installed quantities and resources utilized.
- Inspect the work for completeness and conformance with the plans, specifications, and applicable regulations and ordinances.
- Conduct inspections of pipeline construction projects and ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, codes, and regulations
- Verify the quality of materials used in construction, including pipes, valves, fittings, and other components
- Assist the construction manager with the development of as-built drawings.
- Document compliance and non-compliance of completed work with established quality control and quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Inspect project work in physically demanding work environments; ascend and descend up to several hundred feet in elevation daily, if not multiple times a day within a system of steeply sloped tunnels and ladders.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of inspection experience in the construction of water infrastructure projects.
- ICC/ICBO Certifications in Reinforced Concrete, Welding, Masonry Inspection are very desirable.
- Thorough understanding of construction safety, quality control, and general contract management requirements necessary.
- Equivalent combination of related experience and technical training may be substituted.
- Valid California Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Inspection experience in trenchless pipeline installations including HDD, CIPP, Jack & Bore and/or Microtunneling is preferred.

Compensation:
- The total hourly rate is $89.24 per the General Prevailing Wage Determination (PWD) made by the Director of Industrial Relations
