The Director, Patient Care Services Business Operations, advises the Chief Nursing and Patient Care Services Officer and Executive Directors on strategic planning and provides administrative leadership and direction within Patient Care Services to ensure achievement of the division’s strategic and operational plans. This role develops, monitors and executes long and short-term Patient Care Services strategic plans, financial budgets, informatics support, operational efficiency, and allocation management measurement for Patient Care Services.
This position determines objectives, directs programs, develops strategies and policies, manages human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with a high degree of autonomy. Proactively assesses risk to establish systems and procedures to protect organizational assets and determines strategies for a program with organization-wide impact.
The Director, Patient Care Services Operations, implements and maintains the financial and business goals and objectives which assure fiscally viable and optimal service delivery in all areas of Patient Care Services. Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing resources. Reviews and approves recommendations for functional programs. Involved in developing, modifying and executing organizational policies that affect immediate operations and may also have organization-wide effect.
Areas of direct management responsibility include: Business operations, Nursing Unit Support Services, standardizing administrative delegated practices to HUSCs, billing and charges, analysis of revenue and expenses, budget preparation and analysis, capital equipment management, and business contracts and grant management. This role ensures that all areas operate within the established policies and procedures and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines.
The Director, Patient Care Services Business Operations, works to plan, implement and direct ongoing activities within the areas of responsibilities that optimizes fiscal prudence and budgetary compliance; works closely with the Chief Nursing and Patient Care Services Office and Executive Directors to develop business and operation plans, ensures operational efficiency, productivity and effectiveness of Patient Care Services, including the timely delivery of information.
