    Job Summary

    Plans, organizes, directs and administers all maintenance and operation of the hospitals and surgery centers. Supervises skilled maintenance and support services, including plant engineering, safety and EOC Safety Committee, minor construction, remodeling, and grounds. Oversees outside project managers, architects, and contractors.

    Essential Functions
    Facilitates the development and maintenance of the master campus plan. Coordinates with outpatient operational executive leadership to ensure the plan aligns with organizational strategic goals. Monitors campus plan and communicates progress clearly with Skagit Regional Health executive team.
    Oversight of architectural and construction project management teams to ensure quality execution of all master campus planning activities, from minor renovations to major new construction projects. Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached. Manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity. Responsible for assembling project teams, identifying key stakeholders, managing program risks and tracking actions items, issues and key decisions throughout the planning project.
    Works closely with Regional Director of Plant Operations on other special planning and departmental projects. Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution. Monitor consultant and contractor progress and performance.
    Manages facility presentation standards as they relate to physical environment. Provides leadership to the Plant Operations Project Coordinator for system hazard surveillance and resulting EOC and EQOC data report development. Oversees operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision. Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement. Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance.
    Ensures compliance with administrative, legal and regulatory requirements of all governmental and accrediting agencies (CMS, DNV, DOH) as they relate to Environment of Care and Life Safety. Works closely with management team to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance functions within the department are being properly executed in accordance to regulatory-based best practices.

    Education
    Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, construction management or closely related field, required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.

    Experience/Training
    At least 5 years equivalent practical experience in facility management of a large campus environment required. Prior budgetary experience required.

    License/Certifications
    Valid Washington State Driver license required of employment. Certified Project Manager (CPM), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) healthcare provider BLS preferred.

    Must have the ability to maintain high customer service standards for all customers. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with employees, patients, visitors and volunteers. Must be able to understand and communicate institutional problems. Demonstrates responsible use of resources, including time, facilities, supplies, equipment, staff, information, finances, education and developmental assets. Fiscally responsible, including corporate billing compliance. Efficiently uses resources, tools and supplies, recycling when possible. Uses and disposes of confidential information appropriately. Requires use of computers for email, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, including multi-function devices. Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of the healthcare environment preferred. Must possess the ability to provide leadership and training to others. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include weekend work).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
