    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    1. Live the First Community Credit Union Mission, Vision and Values within the organization and our communities.
    2. Review, assess and analyze all aspects of loan requests.
    3. Calculate, analyze and evaluate loan requests to make independent decisions based on credit, income, assets and risk to determine the probability of repayment.
    4. Evaluate risk of loans offered for approve/decline requests to maximize profit and minimize risk and/or loss.
    5. Verify loan documentation for accuracy, completion and adherence to policies and procedures both internally and externally.
    6. Document and effectively communicate reasons for approval/denial of requests to appropriate staff.
    7. Suggest alternative loan options or steps that can be used for approval/denial decisions, as well as, cross sale opportunities.
    8. Be able to determine what cross sales should be offered for secured and unsecured loan types to help the credit union to grow its loan outstanding’s.
    9. Be proactive by taking initiative and ownership.


    Requirements

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    1. Passionate and enthusiastic.
    2. Possess strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
    3. Ability to prioritize various deadlines, using knowledge to make approval decisions based on credit worthiness and risk.
    4. Understanding of Tax Returns and Business Structures
    5. Knowledge of all Credit Union lending policies and procedures.
    6. Knowledge of all State and Federal lending laws, rules and regulations.
    7. May require extended hours or overtime that do not fall within normal office hours.
    8. Confidentiality – this position has high exposure to confidential and sensitive information.


    Education and Experience:

    This position requires a minimum of four (2) years of underwriting experience, or (4) years of lending experience.


    Employees must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and The USA Patriot Act.
