Health Underwriting Director directs and oversees the health insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups for medical and/or dental insurance. Responsible for ensuring integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Health Underwriting Director manages staff of underwriters at the organization. Provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Additionally, Health Underwriting Director has a strong knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Health Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Public Health Nurse Supervisor I
Duties: The position serves as the Clinical Manager with supervisory responsibilities for the following programs: Immunization, Child
Health, Maternity, Family Planning, Primary Care, and
Communicable Disease. The person must have strong management skills, ability to coordinate clinical operations, strong fiscal management of programmatic budgets, coordinate quality improvement activities for the clinical services, coordinate clinical activities for Accreditation, and actively participates in
Preparedness Activities.
Minimum Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a BS degree in nursing which includes a public health nursing rotation and three years of public health experience, or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and four years of professional experience, three of which must have been in public health, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Nurse supervision experience preferred. Must have a current license to practice as an RN in the state of North Carolina.
Salary Range: Grade 77 $72,101 - $79,586
