Health Underwriting Director directs and oversees the health insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups for medical and/or dental insurance. Responsible for ensuring integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Health Underwriting Director manages staff of underwriters at the organization. Provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Additionally, Health Underwriting Director has a strong knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Health Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     What you will do:

    We seek an experienced Director of Facilities Management with expertise in managing complex facility operations in highly regulated, complex mechanical environments such as airports, hospitals, controlled environment agriculture, or casinos. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, including experience with operating central utility plants. Additionally, experience overseeing preventative maintenance service providers, major repairs, and familiarity with emergency power systems and fire protection is essential. This role will spearhead the startup and operations of a state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation and processing facility.

    Highlighted Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure optimal functioning of all systems.
    2. Create and manage the annual operating budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for maintenance and operations.
    3. Establish and oversee an annual Capital Budget to address infrastructure improvements and upgrades.
    4. Develop and maintain a Five Year Master Facilities Plan, outlining long-term goals and strategies for facility management.
    5. Manage onsite energy generating and consuming resources and energy costs effectively to optimize operational efficiency.
    6. Oversee Critical Systems management, drawing from experience in healthcare, hospitality, airports, or transportation sectors.
    7. Generate and maintain impeccable documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
    8. Develop and motivate a high-performing team responsible for day-to-day facility operations and maintenance, including janitorial, housekeeping, mechanical, and groundskeeping.
    9. Organize and prioritize workloads, projects, team members, and contractors.

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
    2. Extensive experience in facilities management, with a focus on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
    3. Proven experience in operating facilities with central utility plants, including chillers, cooling towers, and co-generation.
    4. Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead initiatives and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers.
    6. Knowledge of emergency power systems, elaborate control systems, building automation, boilers, air exchange, and fire protection systems.
    7. Experience in managing facilities in regulated environments such as healthcare or hospitality is highly desirable.
    8. Familiarity with cannabis cultivation and processing facilities is a plus.
    9. A minimum of six (6) years of related experience with at least one year of management experience.
    10. Demonstrable experience and commitment to safety and risk management.
    11. Read, interpret, and conduct work from documents such as blueprints, mechanical and electrical drawings.

    Physical Requirements:

    1. Ability to work a 40 hour work week.

    2. Ability to move continuously is required to complete job requirements.

    3. Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely.

    4. Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push, pull, and twist.

    5. Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds may be required without assistance.

    6. Ability to work under any weather conditions, inside or out, without regard for temperatures any time of the day or night.

    7. Visual acuity is needed for accurate reading of documents.

    8. Ability to hear sound with or without correction.

    9. Good hand and finger dexterity for the use of tools and equipment.

    10. Ability to read and write.

    11. Ability to drive a motor vehicle.

    12. Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force to move objects.
