Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Qualifications

    IN ORDER TO QUALIFY, ALL APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS:One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST) level.Specialized experience is defined as:
    Conducting a wide range of health and safety functions with a focus on risk management, laboratory safety and construction safety. This experience must include the following activities:
    • Demonstrated experience conducting comprehensive Occupational Safety and Health inspections and hazard assessments in compliance with federal regulations and industry best practices.
    • Experience developing and implementing safety protocols and procedures, as well as persuading and influencing others to support these safety measures.
    • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in safety programs.
    • Experience providing safety or industrial hygiene support in a laboratory, research, or clinical environment.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
