Health and Safety Administrator jobs in Las Vegas, NV

Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Support ongoing demolition activities on facilities and ensure compliance by employees and contractors
    Communicate and interpret applicable safety regulations
    Create and distribute area safety communications/alerts
    Assist in company-wide safety-related communications
    Coach employees/subcontractors on safety-related expectations and levels of performance
    Assist with employee health and worker's compensation cases
    Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree or certification in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering or other technical HSE field preferred. A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted for these requirements.
    Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in one or more of the applied areas and with experience working at a demolition site setting preferred, DoD, DOE and Federal site experience very helpful
    Effective verbal and written communication skills are required; Spanish speaking and comprehension is helpful
    The candidate will need excellent planning, organizational, training, teamwork and presentation skills
    Must be able to work effectively with people at all levels inside and outside the company
    Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
    Physical Demands:
    Works both indoors and outdoors in and around heavy equipment with temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
    Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
