Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Responsible for coordinating, overseeing, developing, and implementing safety and health programs including, but not limited to, comprehensive accident prevention & investigation, asbestos & lead management and control, ergonomic evaluations, safety education/training, hearing conservation (noise monitoring), indoor air quality and exposure control monitoring, driver safety, and other applicable safety programs. Ensure that monitoring equipment is properly calibrated. Ensure regulatory (DOH, TJC, OSHA) compliance within all areas of responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Candidate will meet one of the two requirements:
Either Bachelor's Degree in Safety and Health plus three (3) years job related experience required or seven (7) years job related experience is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Master's Degree in Safety and Health is preferred.
Certification as Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.
