Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. We are currently looking for an experienced environmental consultant with experience in Asbestos, Mold, and Lead.
The ideal candidate will be up to date with licensing requirements, have at least 1 year of experience in the field, know the required equipment, and have a valid driver's license.
Qualifications:
Required:- Valid Driver's License;
- BS in Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.
Preferred but not required:- At least 1 year of experience in Environmental Science;
- State of CT Asbestos Inspector License;
- State of CT Lead Inspector License.
Responsibilities:- Field sampling, monitoring, and inspections at various project locations throughout the state;
- Site analysis by phase contrast microscopy (PCM);
- Maintain field sampling logs and notes;
- Perform asbestos project monitoring work for hazardous building materials;
- Attend ongoing training courses to ensure up-to-date licensing and keeps records for license renewal and health records;
- Calibration of equipment including but not limited to, rotameters, microscope, and any other equipment needed;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Customer Service skills;
- Available for on-call rotating schedule for emergency jobs.
Salary is dependent on experience and licensing. We will train and license qualified candidates.
