Health and Safety Manager monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards, and training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Being a Health and Safety Manager manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Health and Safety Manager acts as advisor to health and safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager or Head of a Unit/Department. The Health and Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team.
    Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
    • Collaborate with department heads to create and maintain a culture of safety and environmental awareness.
    • Coordinate and conduct new hire safety training, employee forklift training, and yearly company wide safety training.
    • Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
    • Monitor and report on key EHS performance indicators to senior management.
    • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices, and ensure company compliance.
    • Manage environmental programs, including waste management, recycling, and pollution prevention initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities.
    • Assist in emergency response planning and drills.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferred.
    • Previous Red Cross Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification required
    • 3 years of experience in environmental health and safety coordination.
    • Previous forklift experience/certification required.
    • Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is a plus.

    Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM /-
    Pay: $25.00/HR, dependent upon experience
