Health and Safety Manager monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards, and training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Being a Health and Safety Manager manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Health and Safety Manager acts as advisor to health and safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager or Head of a Unit/Department. The Health and Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Plan, develop and implement safety programs, policies in collaboration with the Site Management team to ensure safety compliance, employee engagement and continuous improvement to prevent work place injuries.

    How you'll make an impact...

    • Drive continuous improvement for a safe work environment, engaging employees through safety committees and comprehensive orientation.
    • Lead training and company adherence to safety investigation protocols in accordance with global and regional safety directives. Utilize computer based tools to identify site trends and preventative measures to implement and maintain collaboration with employees, supervisors, and managers.
    • Implement and enforce site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory training, addressing at-risk areas and conducting safety audits.
    • Lead safety investigations, analyze trends, and collaborate with leadership on prevention measures.
    • Manage OSHA compliance, maintain safety documentation, and oversee ISO 45001 implementation.
    • Communicate site safety metrics, accident trends, and ensure timely reporting of Vermont Worker's Compensation claims.
    • Foster ongoing communication with injured workers, providing documentation and facilitating return-to-work policies.

    What do you bring...

    • Minimum 5 years of experience with thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and Worker's Compensation processes. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
    • Proven track record of implementing positive safety culture initiatives.
    • Willingness to travel and ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and work independently with urgency.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint; experience in safety and environmental training.
    • Strong relationship building and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
