Being a Health and Safety Manager manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Health and Safety Manager acts as advisor to health and safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager or Head of a Unit/Department. The Health and Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. As Environmental Health & Safety Intern, you will assist with employee health, safety, and environmental compliance for NYCOA, in addition to administration of programs and policies related to health, safety, and environmental management.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of engineers and scientists to address complex environmental challenges.
You will report to the Director of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security and benefit from the mentorship of an engineer with over 30 years of experience managing safety and environmental risks within the manufacturing industry.
