    For GS-1802-06:

    • Makes travel arrangements for employees of the work unit. Provides itinerary, secures travel and hotel reservations, and prepares travel vouchers upon completion of travel.
    • Performs a variety of administrative functions, such as: posts and maintains time and attendance records, prepares personnel documents, prepares requisitions and distributes supplies, prepares mileage reports, tracks awards, etc.

    • Receives calls and visitors. Ascertains the nature of the call/visit and determines those which she or he can personally handle or referring others to the appropriate staff.
    • Researches, gathers and assembles information for use by field office staff in special projects, evaluations, conferences, meetings and FOIA requests.

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-05 in the Federal Service.

    Specialized experience must include at least two of the following:

    • Maintain and/or create records and files.
    • Prepare documents, correspondence or reports using computer software programs.
    • Communicate with customers through a variety of contact methods, e.g., email, telephone, in-person, web form inquiries.
    • Assist with office support tasks such as maintaining a calendar and scheduling appointments, coordinating travel, or managing time and attendance.
    • Assist with coordinating meetings, trainings, or seminars.

    Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

    Selective Factor: Proficiency Requirement - In addition to meeting experience requirements, applicants must have a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute typing speed. Applicants must have a certificate of proficiency from an organization authorized to issue such certificates or self-certify proficiency.

    There is no education substitution at the GS-06 level.
