Health and Safety Manager monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards, and training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Being a Health and Safety Manager manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Health and Safety Manager acts as advisor to health and safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager or Head of a Unit/Department. The Health and Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. PotlatchDeltic Land and Lumber is currently seeking candidates for a 2024 Summer Salaried Intern for our Warren, Arkansas Lumber Mill. The purpose of an internship is to supplement your education by providing a broader understanding of your potential career path. This internship will be in the Environmental Health & Safety offices at the mill and will focus on compliance and safety related activities.
The hourly rate of pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.
Working Conditions:
Interns are matched with a mentor to assist in their training and development. The mentor will guide the intern as they develop an intimate understanding of the processes to complete a project that promotes cost savings, efficiencies, quality, and most importantly, safety.
Internships are typically three-month, full-time assignments, beginning in May or June and continuing through August.
This position is an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern and will work in the Warren, AR mill office for the summer.
