Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. JOB SUMMARY:
The Supervisor of Risk/Safety & Training, under minimal supervision, plans and manages the delivery of ENSTAR's safety and technical training programs and initiatives. Identifies, develops, and implements safety programs and operational procedures throughout the Company. Specific responsibilities include the development, administration, and promotion of ENSTAR's Safety, first aid, industrial hygiene and environmental health, and accident prevention programs. This includes performing periodic inspections of ENSTAR's physical properties to ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, Labor, ADEC and other regulatory agencies. This position is also responsible for the review of injury and accident investigations, and the recommendation of measures to reduce or eliminate industrial and vehicular accidents.
