Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The environmental, health, and safety (EHS) coordinator will provide technical EHS knowledge and resources to the manufacturing and maintenance departments. This will be accomplished by improving existing EHS programs, developing, coordinating, and delivering relevant training programs, and building rapport and working relationships with employees. In addition, the EHS coordinator will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, monitoring corrective actions, and identifying previously undiscovered or new EHS hazards.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does coach operations personnel on safety and risk mitigation strategies.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

B.S. in EHS, safety science, engineering, industrial hygiene, or related discipline. GSP, ASP, or CSP preferred
