Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Electric Distribution Operations Field Safety leadership team ensures safe field practices and assists in closing performance gaps. The teams partner with the Distribution Operations leaders to facilitate understanding and improvement of safe work practices. The leaders also assist with job planning and storm response safety support. These leaders promote all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures. Field safety personnel also investigate human performance incidents, document root causes and develop metrics to monitor future performance. Constantly reinforces the organizational safety culture and related behaviors.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $ 118,000
Bay Area Maximum: $188,000
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and based on business needs.
