    The Challenge (Job Summary)

    NOMS Healthcare is rapidly maturing its analytic and data science capabilities and is looking for an experienced healthcare analyst familiar with the Microsoft Azure Cloud-based platform, Microsoft Power BI, and/or Alteryx Analytics Platform. This position will develop, design, implement, and maintain an analytics platform environment and help architect how the company interprets data to impact clinical and administrative operations. Part of this position’s responsibilities include developing dashboards that can be commercialized for ACOs and provider organizations, allowing them to analyze, interpret, and report to enable measurement of efficiency and effectiveness, and improve outcomes that address the Triple Aim: lowered costs, improved quality, and enhanced member engagement. A successful candidate will be able to leverage principles of program evaluation to examine effects on costs of care, utilization, clinical quality, members’ experiences, and productivity. In addition, this position will examine distributions and drivers of burden of illness, health care utilization and costs both within and across populations. Innovation is critical to this role as an ideal candidate will possess the ability to lead the development of analytics within the enterprise data warehouse, along with new reporting systems, analytic engines, and machine learning algorithms to support NOMS Healthcare

     

    Your Day to Day & Essential Functions:

    • You will be communicating results of analyses and implications to internal and external stakeholders, including appropriately displaying results for maximum impact and effectiveness, identifying actionable improvement opportunities, writing summaries, creating presentations, and delivering results, and recommending appropriate changes to realize identified opportunities. 

    • You will monitor and interpret quality, cost, and utilization data. Analyze data and identify areas of potential focus for improvement initiatives.

    • You will assess population health status and illness burden, use of care, plan spend, and receipt of high quality care consistent with evidence based medicine guidelines. Ensures analytic results are insightful and actionable

    • You will develop analytics to support quality improvement initiatives, as well as the standardization of care.

    • You will provide subject matter expertise and hands on delivery of data capture, curation, and consumption pipelines for Microsoft Azure’s platform.

    • You’ll participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new solutions and migrating existing data applications on the Azure platform.

    • You’ll work in collaboration with NOMS data scientists, build a full technology stack of services for commercialization purposes including PaaS (Platform as-a-service), IaaS (Infrastructure as-a-service), SaaS (software as-a-service), operations and management.

    • You’ll evangelize data on cloud solutions with data science and analytics team, leading Business, and IT stakeholders through designing a robust, secure and optimized Azure architectures.

    • You will develop documentation, such as data dictionaries or guides that assist staff in identifying, locating, and using the organization’s data. 

     

    What You Need to Succeed (Competencies and Education):

    • 3 or more years of experience conducting analyses, delivering analytic results, or working with data in a health system, hospital, health plan, or medical practice.

    • Experience and expertise in data extraction and analytical programming languages or software (e.g., Alteryx, Python, or SQL) and data visualization tools (Tableau or Microsoft Power BI) and the ability to perform queries and retrieve data from multiple tables and/or sources.

    • Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment required.

    • Ability to communicate, understand technical terminology, and collaborate with data scientists and data engineers is required.

    • Knowledge of medical terminology, especially ICD-10 codes, CPT codes, DRG codes, and an understanding of adjudicated claims data. 

    • Knowledge of healthcare value-based care programs and an understanding of healthcare service delivery. 

    • Excellent verbal and written communication. An applicant may be asked to provide examples of written work to demonstrate technical writing proficiency. 

     

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Bachelors or higher degree in Public Health, Sociology, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Statistics, or any other related field.

    • Masters level work in analytics, statistics, or related field preferred.
