Healthcare Service Line Director develops and manages all functions within a specific service line e.g., oncology, cardiac, women's, orthopedics. Establishes effective strategies for programs, product/service line, and physician integration and resource utilizations with the goal of increasing service line growth, efficiency, and patient experience. Being a Healthcare Service Line Director requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Healthcare Service Line Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Healthcare Service Line Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Bear Mountain is actively looking to hire a motivated and experienced Food Service Director for our Long-Term Care Facility in Sudbury, MA. We pride ourselves in the level of professionalism our team exhibits every day, as we strive to provide the best possible care for our resident’s and team members. The Food Service Director will direct and assist in the preparation and serving of regular meals and therapeutic diets, order supplies and maintain the department and equipment in sanitary condition.

    Requirements:

    Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

    Must be physically active with the ability to lift, bend, push, pull

    Education and/ or Experience:

    CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) is a must.

    Prior Long-Term Care or Institutional setting experience preferred

    Ability to read, write and understand English.

    Supervisory experience preferred.

    Must have basic knowledge of dietetic principles, food sanitation, and food service operation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals.

    Maintains cost records and works to meet budget guidelines.

    Checks and inventories incoming food and supplies.

    Assures that food and supplies are available for use by Dining personnel.

    Assures that proper storage is available, and that handling of food and supplies complies with current guidelines.

    Processes new diet orders and diet changes when received from nursing service and keeps diet cards updated.

    Inspects storage weekly for proper temperatures, cleanliness, and order.

    Assists in cleaning procedures as needed.

    Plans and presents in-service education programs for the Dining Department.

    Ensures continued compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

    • Maintain current Care Plan for resident through Care Plan meetings & update when necessary.

    • Responsible for knowing, understanding, and conveying to Dining staff the Federal & State rules & regulations regarding nursing home Dining requirements and is responsible for enforcement within the scope of Dining Dept.

    • Actively participates in all quality processes

    • Directly supervises employees in the Kitchen.
