This position involves oversight, design, installation, maintenance, and repair of the Vermont Veterans' Home. Supervision is exercised over skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled employees.
Work is performed under the direction and supervision of the Chief Operating Officer.
This position : Plans, lays out, assigns, inspects and supervises the work of the maintenance staff who are responsible for building maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, grounds maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
May supervise building alterations and moderate sized new construction projects.Works collaboratively with the State of Vermont Office of Building and General Services for large construction projects and request for proposals.
Provides performance feedback, encourages development, promotes teamwork and recognition of assigned staff. Assists in cost estimations for operational needs, monitors departmental budget and follows State of Vermont and facility policies for purchasing and procurement of services for the department.
Ensures that the facility is compliant with local, state, and federal requirements for a skilled nursing home.Compensation

Associate's degree or higher in construction management, engineering, or related field AND (3) years or more of experience in facilities and building maintenance, construction management, civil or structural engineering, or related filed AND two (2) or more years of supervisory, management, or team lead experience.
ORSeven (7) years or more of experience in facilities and building maintenance, construction management, civil or structural engineering, or related filed AND two (2) or more years of supervisory, management, or team lead experience.Preferred Qualifications
