Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Must be able to commit to reliability and attendance.
Duties :
use hands to touch, hands and arms to reach forward or overhead. Frequently lift up to 35lbs unassisted and occasionally assist moving up to 100lbs.
Specific vision requirements include color, close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May be required to work with hazardous materials.
Work environment is frequently performed in a climate-controlled environment and occasionally a non-climate-controlled setting.
Employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level is low to moderate in the manufacturing area and moderate / loud in the trailer storage area.
