Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. PDQ Staffing is currently recruiting for Heavy Assemblers. This is a temp to hire position. A self-motivated person who will take the initiative in keeping up with the needs of the company requirements.
Requirements:
- Lays out reference points, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of metal or fiberglass mold according to blueprint and layout specifications fabrication.
- Must have experience with hand tools, portable tools, hoists, and cranes to move materials, parts, and assemblies.
- Perform mechanical fastening (bolts, nuts)
- Able to stand and walk for the entire shift.
- Must have a good attitude; follow directions and willing to learn.
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
- Maintains safe work environment, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment and have construction experience.
- Must be willing to work 6 days a week 10 hour shifts including Saturdays if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
