May be responsible for scheduling minor repairs and conducting routine maintenance like cleaning and lubricating. Additionally, Heavy Equipment Operator requires a high school diploma. POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLEDUnder general supervision, the Parks Heavy Equipment Operator performs semi-skilled and skilled work operating heavy and large scale automotive or maintenance equipment. Transports, drives, grades, excavates, and loads equipment in the beautification and maintenance of the City's parks, beaches, and projects.

Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
Does this position require a Commercial Driver's License? Yes
Type: Class B CDL
Obtain Tanker Endorsement within six (6) months and Class A-5 within one (1) year of hire date.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate PLUS two (2) years of experience in the operation of the appropriate heavy equipment or related equipment used in construction and maintenance activities; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
