Heavy Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment or machinery, such as a tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator, for the purposes of construction, demolition, or excavation. Prepares equipment and conducts routine inspections prior to operation to ensure it is safe and in working condition. Being a Heavy Equipment Operator identifies and addresses potential hazards and adheres to all safety protocols and regulations. May be responsible for scheduling minor repairs and conducting routine maintenance like cleaning and lubricating. Additionally, Heavy Equipment Operator requires a high school diploma. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Equipment Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Must be local within a hour distance from mine sites. Must have heavy equipment experience. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, scrapers, skidsteer, excavator and other pieces of equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. The Operator will be required to attend MSHA training due to working in a mine setting (above ground). Training will take place before being placed on mine site. Pay depends on experience ($15-$18) Applicants will be added to a database for random drug testing. 3 previous employers will be contacted for validation of heavy equipment operating.
This position does not pay per diem nor truck pay.
