Heavy Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment or machinery, such as a tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator, for the purposes of construction, demolition, or excavation. Prepares equipment and conducts routine inspections prior to operation to ensure it is safe and in working condition. Being a Heavy Equipment Operator identifies and addresses potential hazards and adheres to all safety protocols and regulations. May be responsible for scheduling minor repairs and conducting routine maintenance like cleaning and lubricating. Additionally, Heavy Equipment Operator requires a high school diploma. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Equipment Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Our Heavy Equipment Operators operate a variety of equipment used for soil modification, soil stabilization, and pulverization projects. Simply put, we improve soil integrity and stability in order to provide the best possible foundation for overlying pavements.
The Equipment Operator position is physically demanding and requires frequent climbing in and out of vehicles and heavy equipment; operating tools and controls; and lifting and moving heavy objects, tools, and materials. Operators are required to wear personal protective equipment and keep themselves in proper mental and physical condition to operate safely at all times. Operators can expect to be working outside in variable weather conditions nationwide.
Compensation:$1,500 - $2,500 weekly
