Heavy Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment or machinery, such as a tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator, for the purposes of construction, demolition, or excavation. Prepares equipment and conducts routine inspections prior to operation to ensure it is safe and in working condition. Being a Heavy Equipment Operator identifies and addresses potential hazards and adheres to all safety protocols and regulations. May be responsible for scheduling minor repairs and conducting routine maintenance like cleaning and lubricating. Additionally, Heavy Equipment Operator requires a high school diploma. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Equipment Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. We are a construction company specializing in the installation of wet and dry utilities, (sewer, water, storm drain, & conduit). We are Currently seeking Backhoe, Excavator and Loader operators, familiar with Cat controls, who have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in underground construction. Operators may be responsible for duties such as greasing the machine, checking fluids, recording machine hours and reporting maintenance issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work in cold/hot temperatures and wet environment. Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, lifting up to 75lbs, pulling and pushing, sight, hearing, lifting, standing, climbing, stairways, walking on even and uneven surfaces, bending, twisting, reaching forward, reaching overhead, reaching below shoulder, wrist turning, neck turning.
