Heavy Equipment Operator jobs in Wichita, KS

Plum Thicket Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscience Heavy Equipment Operator to join our GROWING team in Harper, Kansas.
 

PAY:
$18 per hour.
Every hour after 40 is paid overtime.
Monthly safety bonus rewarded for safe operating.

SCHEDULE:
Start time between 5:30 am – 6:30 am.
Stop time around 4:30 pm.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
•Spreading daily cover using a Dozer
•Excavating soil using a excavator
•Maintaining haul roads using a grader
•Hauling soil with an articulated dump truck
•Work in a fast paced, team environment
•Follow safe operating practices
•Learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
•Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.
•The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•Valid drivers license.
•Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
•2 years of experience preferred.
