Heavy Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment or machinery, such as a tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator, for the purposes of construction, demolition, or excavation. Prepares equipment and conducts routine inspections prior to operation to ensure it is safe and in working condition. Being a Heavy Equipment Operator identifies and addresses potential hazards and adheres to all safety protocols and regulations. May be responsible for scheduling minor repairs and conducting routine maintenance like cleaning and lubricating. Additionally, Heavy Equipment Operator requires a high school diploma. May require State License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Equipment Operator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Responsibilities:
-Relocation is a must job site is in Asbury Park, New Jersey area
-Per diem provided to assist with living expenses
-Starting rate may increase based on experience
- Operate and maintain various types of equipment, including but not limited to: backhoes, bulldozer, front loader trucks, roll off trucks, and tankers.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Safely transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Dig trenches, build foundations, and perform other construction-related tasks as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Experience operating farm machinery or commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment, such as Caterpillar machinery.
- Proficient in operation of a bulldozer and other excavation equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing work environments.
