Helicopter Pilot is responsible for operation of helicopter. Ensures flight is conducted in the safest manner possible. Being a Helicopter Pilot determines flight routes, speed, and take off and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements. Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations. Additionally, Helicopter Pilot requires 1,000 hours of helicopter flying time. May require an associate degree. Requires Commercial Pilot license for helicopters - CPL (H). Typically reports to a supervisor. Helicopter Pilot's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     • PHI Air Medical (operating under CAMTS guidelines)
    • BH407 VFR / NVG (Instrument rating required)
    • 24 Hrs. operations (day / night rotation)
    • If successful applicant requires aircraft transition - 2-year minimum service requirement.

    BENEFITS

    This is a part-time 3 position working on average less than 30 hours per week or less than 84 hours in a 28-day period and not eligible for welfare benefits.

    SCHEDULE / LOCATION

    • 7 12-hour shifts in a 28-day period.
    • Candidates must live within a one-hour drive or sixty (60) miles from the base (whichever is greater) of the candidate's residence.

    QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

    • Commercial and Instrument Helicopter Ratings
    • First Class Medical
    • CAMTS Requirement / / 2,000 Total Hours / / 1,500 Hours Helicopter / / 1,000 Hours PIC Helicopters / / 500 Hours Turbine Helicopters / / 100 Hours in Unaided Night Operations or 50 Hours Unaided and 100 Hours Night Vision Goggles (NVG)
    • Helicopter candidates must meet 250 pounds body weight for single and twin engine helicopter.
    • Must be able to pass FAA physical exam and PHI Air Medical functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift 100 pounds), drug screening and background screen
    • BH407 Qualified & Current Preferred
    • 2 Years EMS Experience Preferred / / 100 Hours Mountain Time Preferred / / 150 Hours Nighttime or 10 Hours Night Time in Past 36 Months Preferred / / Night Vision Goggles Experience Preferred / / 200 Hours in Type Preferred / / 100 Hours Instrument Time or 10 Hours Instrument Time in Past 36 Months Preferred
    • Strong Communication, Internal and External Customer Service Skills
    • Interview and acceptance by customer
    • Annual Flu Vaccine required
    • Must be able to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds) and drug and background screening

    OTHER

    • External search may run concurrently with internal job posting.
    • Successful applicant will participate in community outreach programs and adhere to PHI Health policies.
    • Some lifting will be required to assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment.
    • Perform line pilot duties IAW GOM.
    • Support Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns.
    • Work with both internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.
