Help Desk Supervisor supervises the staff and the day-to-day operations of an organization's technical help desk. Supports and coaches team members on effective methods to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Being a Help Desk Supervisor trains the team on the help desk systems, processes, tools, and procedures required to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Ensures the latest product/technical updates and policies are available and communicated to the team. Additionally, Help Desk Supervisor monitors request queue and tracks key metrics to ensure sufficient coverage and achievement of service standards. Identifies system and workflow improvements to enhance the team's efficiency. Acts as the escalation point for critical issues and facilitates a final resolution. May require a bachelor's degree. This position will be based in Fort Lee, VA.
Responsibilities:
The Candidate shall possess a high proficiency with TCP/IP protocol. The Candidate shall have hardware knowledge with server platform equipment including the following: Ethernet networks, server and PC hardware, personal digital assistants (PDA), network printers, and storage technology. The Candidate shall be able to support the infrastructure enterprise network by developing, customizing, and documenting unattended installation scripts for deployment of applications, operating systems, and patches to 13,000 desktops, laptops, tablets and PDAs. The Candidate shall have knowledge of Windows architecture and internals, including file system, registry, networking, and security. The Candidate shall have knowledge of Microsoft Windows installation and deployment methodologies to include creation and customization of unattended installation scripts. The Candidate shall have experience in analyzing, designing, configuring and troubleshooting networking operating systems. The Candidate shall be able to recommend organization-wide standards and best practices including commenting on policy and procedures development. The Candidate must have experience in deploying packages in a Windows Active Directory environment. The Candidate shall be able to provide assistance to specialized development, maintenance and support based on user needs. The Candidate shall have experience with various software products (ex. Symantec Backup Exec or NetBackup) that perform and maintain backup resources. The Candidate shall be able to develop and maintain application software, provide system/database administration/training, and/or provide local area network solutions/training for assigned Automated Information Systems (AIS). The Candidate shall be able to develop Criteria, methods, techniques, and procedures. The Candidate shall be able to provide assistance as required to junior technicians, Network Administrator, or Government leads. The following tasks are required:
