Help Desk Support Assistant responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support Assistant uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support Assistant advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     JOB SUMMARY: 
     Installs hardware, software, and provides technical assistance and customer support to other departments. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Maintains computer equipment and peripherals, performs preventive maintenance by troubleshooting 
    • problems, training users on software applications, backing up historical data and updates system work 
    • order status. 
    • Installs computer software, upgrades, and service packs. Provides user training and maintains network 
    • security. 
    • Maintains software license, warranties and repair status. 
    • Installs and replaces computer hardware, relocates equipment and peripherals.
    • Maintains computer and video equipment in law enforcement vehicles 
    • Assists with maintenance of Avaya VoIP phone system, such as phone moves, additions, and changes 
    • Installs and troubleshoots network wiring, security camera wiring and security cameras 
    • Supports creating new users, assigning passwords, and appropriate permissions for software applications using Active Directory Group Policies and Local Policies. Updates work orders for system repairs and upgrades. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
    • Associates Degree in computer related field or equivalent technical training preferred but NOT required
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Office 365, Windows
    • Two years of relevant experience 
    • Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License

    PAY: $21.33-$23.88
    SCHEDULE: M-F 8AM-5PM
