Help Desk Support Assistant responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support Assistant uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support Assistant advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Help Desk Analyst

  • Management Support Technology, Inc. (MSTI) is seeking a Help Desk Analyst to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will be responsible to efficiently design, implement, operate, configure, and maintain site collections and their respective web parts, lists, libraries, workflows, and content through out of the box SharePoint features as a part of their daily tasks with little oversight. This additionally includes proactive maintenance of the numerous site collections and troubleshooting of custom SharePoint sites when not directly assigned a task. The ability to understand and implement custom permissions within the SharePoint environment across thousands of sites within a collection is essential. All work is conducted in a live, production, environment and measures must be taken to avoid data loss. The Analyst must research and exhaust all potential methods of remediation and determine which issues cannot be solved at the Site Collection Administration level.

    The Analyst is expected to directly interface with web developers, graphic designers and end users in an expedient and calm manner to solve a wide variety of unexpected issues and answer questions in a high tempo environment. Personnel are expected to have the ability to clearly articulate, provide, and document resolutions/referrals for each task or action taken.


    General Requirements

    • Must be located in the Huntsville, AL area.
    • Active DoD SECRET clearance or higher.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
    • Must have current Microsoft PL-900, PL-500 Certification.
    • Must have a current IAT Level II Certification (Security CE).
    • In-depth knowledge of multiple Microsoft technologies in a Windows Environment.
    • A thorough understanding of Microsoft operating systems, have some understanding of system architectures, design, development, and implementation, including interaction between databases and applications, such as SharePoint and custom web sites.
    • The desire to research and learn.
    • Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.


    Desired Skills:

    • SharePoint Site Collection Administrator experience.
    • An understanding of HTML and CSS.
    • An understanding of JavaScript and jQuery will help but is not required.
    • A demonstrated, history in configuring, maintaining, and repairing MS Windows operating systems with SharePoint end user experience.
