Help Desk Support Assistant responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support Assistant uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support Assistant advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.   • The Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive information technology support to the entire corporation, including Arizona office staff, under the guidance of the IT Director and following the directives of the company's management staff. This is a part-time position with the ability to go full-time for the right candidate.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: None

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Respond promptly to help desk calls and escalate tickets as required.
    • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, and servers, including hardware and software components.
    • Manage user accounts, ensuring all systems adhere to company standards and business requirements.
    • Provide technical assistance to users for desktop and laptop hardware and software issues, encompassing both Windows and Mac platforms.
    • Conduct pre-setup checks on systems to verify the installation and functionality of expected software and devices.
    • Monitor and maintain servers and information systems as directed, promptly escalating issues as they arise.
    • Address system alarms and alerts promptly, following up to ensure resolution.
    • Assist in the implementation of new software and network security measures.
    • Proactively escalate problems to minimize downtime and ensure timely resolution of issues.
    • Conduct ongoing network security enhancements and optimization efforts.
    • Continuously develop knowledge and skills related to server and service maintenance, including basic firewall management and network troubleshooting.
    • Further understanding of networking fundamentals, including IPv4 addressing and subnetting.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Willingness to provide on-call support after hours and on weekends as needed to address outages or critical issues.

    Education and Experience:

    Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Information Systems or a related field.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer.
    • Capable of lifting and moving computer equipment and office supplies as needed.
    • Willingness to perform tasks required for workstation setup and installation.
