Help Desk Support responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Help Desk Support typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

IT Help Desk Support Technician

  • As the use of technology rises in the Medical field, there is a growing need for technical assistance. At Southview, we understand that supporting our end-users is an extremely important part of overall patient care.

    Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
    Provide help desk support for all end users with IT problems, first line support for patient portal (Follow My Health), provide telephone system support for end users (work with telephony vendor), set up new IT equipment for users, move IT equipment when necessary, call vendor technical support when necessary to resolve IT problems, manage data backup off-site media rotation, help with after hours and weekend projects (occasionally), liaison for Managed Print Service company, work with manager on analysis and roll-out of new equipment, software, and systems, and other duties as assigned by Management.

    Work hours will typically be 8:00AM until 5:00PM but can vary depending on daily need. Work days are Monday through Friday.

    Starting Hourly Rate - $20 - $25

    Southview prefers that candidates have experience and understanding of IT terminology and concepts. Previous end user help desk support experience strongly preferred. Good critical thinking/decision making skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to interact professionally with physicians, patients, co-workers, and management are required. This position requires that candidates be able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and walk/stand for extended periods of time.

    Associate's Degree in related field required.
