Help Desk Support, Sr. responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support, Sr. uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support, Sr. advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Mission:

    Quantum is seeking a DesksideSupport/IT Help Desk Technician to support their Corporate Business Office in Huntsville, AL .

    Responsibilities:

    Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer desktop, lap-tops, computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, troubleshoots/ isolates and problems, and determines,repairs and/or implements solution. Supports all locations within Huntsville, AL offices as needed with primary support/duty at Quantum Corporate Business Office.

    • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
    • Interacts and responds to queries either in person or over the phone.
    • Train computer users/employees as needed
    • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
    • Respond to email messages for customers seeking help.
    • Comfortable asking questions to determine nature of problem.
    • Assist with walking customer through problem-solving process.
    • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
    • Re-image computers and run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
    • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems such as VOIP.
    • Install computer peripherals for users.
    • Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
    • Gain feedback from customers about computer usage.
    • Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.
    • Other duties as assigned to the department

    Requirements:

    • 2 plus years of experience with Desktop/Help Desk or IT Technician support, Associates Degree desired in IT related field, but years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Certifications preferred
    • Experience in the following areas are a plus: Windows OS VMware Active Directory /DHCP/DNS File and printer server configurations Enterprise antimalware/antivirus solutions TCPIP knowledge WSUS Microsoft Exchange PC maintenance
    • Applicable Certifications include any of the following: A , Security , Net , MCSA/MCSE
    • Must be able to assist users with mobile devices to include Andriod and iPhone (Apple iOS ).
    • Strong deskside support skills/customer service with ability to work with all levels of staff
    • Selected applicants will be subject to a government security clearance and must be able to maintain
    • Certifications a plus!
