Helper- Brick and Stone Mason prepares and lays brick, concrete block, tile, marble, and related materials using chisels, hammers, trowels, and other hand tools and implements. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Helper- Brick and Stone Mason may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Helper- Brick and Stone Mason relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Duties:
- Perform various masonry tasks such as bricklaying, blocklaying, and stone setting
- Apply stucco, plaster, and drywall to surfaces as needed
- Construct and repair wooden frameworks for buildings using frame carpentry techniques
- Lay tiles and other decorative materials for flooring, walls, and other surfaces
- Renovate existing structures by repairing or replacing damaged masonry componentsQualifications:
- Proven experience as a mason or carpenter in the construction industry
- Proficient in trim carpentry techniques and tile laying
- Knowledge of different masonry materials and their applications (e.g., stucco, plaster)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a teamNote: Additional qualifications such as certifications or specialized training may be required depending on the specific job requirements.
