Role and Responsibilities
Employee may be engaged in foot patrol, vehicle patrol and traffic control duties. Will be responsible for preventing and detecting crimes, ensuring safety of authorized persons on contracted sites, apprehending suspects/criminals, and may be required to testify in court. Also responds to complaints, requests for services, preparing records and reports. Tact and firmness are required in frequent public contact. Must be capable of good judgement and making independent decisions. Applicant must be truthful and display good ethics and morals. Officers may be required to work (6), (8), (10), or (12) hour permanent or rotating shifts depending on the specific needs of the agency.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Applicants must successfully complete a screening and evaluation process which may include but is not limited to the following: Thorough Background Investigation, Psychological Evaluation, Physical Examination, and/or Drug Screen.
Preferred Skills
Fluent writing skills are needed for report writing. Clear communication is a must. May occasionally work outdoors in various weather conditions, may be required to stand, walk or operate vehicles for long periods of time.
