POSITION PURPOSE: This position supports all aspects of the Richmond, VA location. This is a very hands-on position that requires someone who is able to perform a wide variety of work and is able to multi-task and manage many priorities simultaneously. The two primary roles will consist of shipping/receiving parts orders and checking/servicing equipment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the service team with daily operations, including administrative duties, customer service, scheduling
- Support the parts department by assisting internal and external customers, locating, ordering, receiving, stocking, and shipping parts, maintaining the inventory, and other parts duties as assigned
- Greet customers and haulers as they arrive at our branch with loading and unloading equipment. (Document hours, fuel, potential damage, and process any needed paperwork)
- Complete equipment cleaning, fueling, check-ins, pre-delivery inspections (PDI’s) and basic maintenance servicing
- Assist the sales/rental team by taking inside sales calls, handling shipping logistics, and performing yard duties
- Inventory and organize equipment and attachments on the yard when needed
- Perform general housekeeping duties for all areas of the branch to ensure that the facility is organized, functional, and presentable

- Contribute to Highway’s overall success by performing additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school degree required
- Experience working in one or more industry segments related to Highway Equipment, its customers, suppliers, or competitors is highly preferred
- Knowledge of construction equipment and parts, or an aptitude and desire to learn about construction equipment is required
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
- Ability to work independently, manage time well, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be comfortable using a computer and computer software
- Maintains professional and friendly demeanor; exhibits ability to remain calm and polite when working with customers
- Must have a driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and must pass a background check
