Performs histological procedures including accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining. Being a Histology Technician maintains accurate tissue and slide records. Cleans and maintains instruments and work areas. Additionally, Histology Technician complies with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety. Requires an associate degree in biology, related science, or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnician certification (HT). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Histology Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Histology Laboratory Technician
Anne Arundel Urology is seeking an experienced Histology Technician to work in our and Pathology and PCR Lab located in Annapolis, MD. We are a urology office that processes tissue and urine samples. The Tech's primary responsibility will be processing anatomic path, however this role will be cross-trained in our PCR lab. Experience in PCR is a plus! This is a full time position that will work 5 days per week, including Saturdays.
