Histology Technician jobs in Bergenfield, NJ

Immediate Histology Technician opportunity with one of the largest hospital settings in New Jersey! This position requires a candidate that has experience with microtomy and staining. It offers competitive compensation, training opportunities, and the ability to build a career within a large hospital setting!

Description:

• Specimen analysis

• Follows CAP and CLIA guidelines

• Prepares stains, reagents, solutions and mounts slides for microscopic analysis as needed. Observes and analyzes reactions.

• Follow HIPAA

• LIS or laboratory information management systems like EPIC or Beeker

• Cut and embed samples

• Microtomy

• Embed samples in cassettes

• Utilize EPIC for EMR system updates

• Complete special stains in automated machines

• Support prep, cutting and staining of 100 blocks in about 2 hours

• Potential to support cryostat for frozen sectioning

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS or associate's in sciences required
• ASCP preferred, not required
• Microtomy and staining experience
