Histology Technician jobs in Charleston, WV

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for all areas of histology laboratory testing including but not limited to daily lab duties, compliance monitoring, and facilitating communication with staff and administration. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Please note that the selected candidate may need to work extended hours or vary their usual shift to ensure adequate lab functions and to maintain a high level of service.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

ASCP certification, or eligibility for certification

Qualifications to perform gross evaluation independently

State of WV as a Laboratory Histology Technician/Technologist license required within 90 days of employment.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's of Science Degree or higher education with a minimum 5 years of experience as Histotechnologist

• HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) Certification
• Qualified personnel that are eligible but do not hold an HTL certification must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
• Proficiency in the following areas:
• Preparation of and use of reagents, test media, and stains to perform standardized laboratory tests and examinations.
• Use of the cryostat
• Processing tissue for immunohistochemistry
• A high degree of quality and accuracy laboratory work
