Histology Technician jobs in Las Vegas, NV
Histology Technician receives and prepares tissue specimens for routine and special procedures and pathologist review. Performs histological procedures including accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining. Being a Histology Technician maintains accurate tissue and slide records. Cleans and maintains instruments and work areas. Additionally, Histology Technician complies with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety. Requires an associate degree in biology, related science, or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnician certification (HT). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Histology Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Ghost RX is looking to hire qualified Laboratory Technicians to work as a civilian contractor at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Las Vegas, NV.
Schedule:
The technicians we are looking for will work from 0500 – 1330p, Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
Receive specimens from different surgery departments.
Fix, dehydrate, infiltrate and embed tissue specimen.
Operate instrumentation for tissue dehydration, section, clearing, and impregnation with paraffin, cutting tissue sections and staining of slides.
Maintain accurate documentation, including computerized documents and monitor quality control programs.
Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment per established procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.
Performing tasks which are within a scope permitted by the policies and procedures of local, state, and federal regulatory commission.
Maintain continuing educational units (CEU’s) for licensure and re-certification.Ghost RX Inc Job ID #165.
