Histology Technologist jobs in Duluth, MN
Histology Technologist performs complex histological procedures used to prepare specimens of tissue for examination and analysis by a Pathologist. Performs grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, and both routine and multiple staining of samples. Being a Histology Technologist performs quality control on completed slides. Identifies problems that may affect diagnosis and results. Additionally, Histology Technologist records observations from tests. Documents maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab. Complies with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnologist certification (HTL). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Histology Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Our surgical Dermatology practice in Duluth, MN is looking for a part-time or full-time Histology Technician to join our practice.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited, to the following:
- Performing histological procedures to aid in diagnosis.
- Preparing tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis.
- Analyzing reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose condition of patients.
- Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.
- Demonstrating knowledge of quality safety and compliance programs.
- Investigating documents communicates and resolves needs problems or complaints.
- Performing area-specific support/clinical activities.
Certification from accredited histology technician program required.
