Performs grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, and both routine and multiple staining of samples. Being a Histology Technologist performs quality control on completed slides. Identifies problems that may affect diagnosis and results. Additionally, Histology Technologist records observations from tests. Documents maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab. Complies with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnologist certification (HTL). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Histology Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Exciting opportunity for a Histology Supervisor to run the clinical aspects of a new pathology lab in Madison. You will be a vital part of this new business opening and operating. Your responsibilities will include opening of the lab, developing protocols, manuals, workflow and procedures, and then running the day to day operations of the digital pathology laboratory as well as serving as the technical supervisor, ensuring that the laboratory runs efficiently and according to and in compliance with industry standards. You will be a vital part of patients getting the quality care that they deserve in bustling gastroenterology and dermatology markets. You should have a bachelor’s degree in science and at least one year supervisory experience working in a lab.
