Histology Technologist performs complex histological procedures used to prepare specimens of tissue for examination and analysis by a Pathologist. Performs grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, and both routine and multiple staining of samples. Being a Histology Technologist performs quality control on completed slides. Identifies problems that may affect diagnosis and results. Additionally, Histology Technologist records observations from tests. Documents maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab. Complies with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnologist certification (HTL). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Histology Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Work Schedule:
This is a full-time., FTE 1.0, 1st shift position. Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Hours may vary based on department needs.

We are seeking a Histo Technician (HT or HTL) - Dermatopathology/Mohs to:
Education:
Minimum – Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include:
Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses
Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science
Work Experience:
Preferred – Previous laboratory experience
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum –
Preferred – Histotechnician/Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
