American Gypsum is hiring for a Mixer Operator for the Production department as a Full-Time job in Duke, Oklahoma.
The primary responsibility of the Mixer Operator is to ensure that the mixer area and production process are under control and steady-state operations are achieved. Safety and quality should always be part of the daily operation of the Mixer Operator, as well as to provide a safe workplace and to produce the highest quality product possible. The schedule is a 12-hour shift that rotates every other week, and the Mixer Operator reports to the Wet End Leadman.
Mixer Operator Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operate in a safe manner, following all plant and departmental safety rules and procedures.
- Understanding all board specifications and informing the supervisor when necessary.
- Understanding of all product specifications Wet End Supervisor when necessary.
- Monitor the Limab system and notify the Wet End Supervisor when readings are out of specification.
- Monitor formulation to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor the mixer boots and skim coat hoses consistently to prevent build-up.
- Monitor slurry for fiberglass content as required.
- Conduct Iodine testing to check for starch.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to accurately read information and fill in forms.
- Must be able to operate a computer, input information, and read data.
- Majority of the job requires very little physical exertion.
- Wet working environment; water and gypsum slurry.
