Hoist and Winch Operator sets-up and operates a hoisting machinery. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Hoist and Winch Operator may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Hoist and Winch Operator relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Operators will set up, maintain and operate machinery, ensuring efficient production. Operators are reliable and able to work with attention to detail and within safety standards. The operator in this position should have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with coworkers.
