Home Care Aide provides household management activities to enable patients in independence at home. Assists patient with self-administered medications and emotional supports. Being a Home Care Aide typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. Additionally, Home Care Aide may require CPR certified. The Home Care Aide possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. ```Duties```
- Provide direct support and care to individuals in their homes or nursing homes
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions
- Monitor and manage behaviors of individuals with behavioral challenges
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients
- Document observations and report any changes in client's condition to supervisor
```Experience```
- Previous experience in home care or nursing home setting preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and dementia care
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and procedures
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
